The auction committee presented the first list of donors that members will be contacting.  Each member will be asked to contact at least ten donors for the auction.  Everyone looked at the list for possible duplications, donors that do not need to be contacted, and looking at their donors for this year.  Packets will be passed out after Thanksgiving.

December 20th our club will man the Salvation Army collection pots at Wal*Mart and K-Mart. If everyone signs up, then everyone can do just one hour.  Sign-ups will begin in the next couple of weeks.

PROGRAM

Buzzy Newman – Assistant City Manager

Discussed the Canoe Creek project.  There are 11 people on the Flood Mitigation Board.  It was created to help Henderson with flooding issues.  Canoe Creek is 17 miles long and it is the main source for flooding in the county.  Phase I of the project is done.

We have just received 1.35 million from coal severance to help with the next phases of the project.  They are waiting to receive a model program that will help show what will happen in several different types of floods.  They hope to have it by the end of November.
